• Can I track my adidas Runners runs with a Smartwatch?

If you wish to collect AR Runs and work towards your adidas Runners level, your event activity must either be tracked with the Runtastic app or with Smartwatches that synchronize directly with the Runtastic platform.

The following devices synchronize directly with Runtastic: Apple Watch, Garmin Smartwatches, or devices equipped with Wear OS by Google.

Please visit the links below for more information about each Smartwatch and its functionality with Runtastic:

  • Is my name always displayed in the participants list of events?

Yes, as soon as you’ve joined an event, your name will be displayed in the participants list. However, your name will only be visible to other members of the respective community.

  • Where can I see the participants of an adidas Runners event?

Want to see who else is going to an event you’ve joined? The participants list is displayed just under the full description of an event. To reach this screen, follow the simple steps below:

    • Open the Runtastic app
    • Tap “Profile” on your tab bar
    • Select “Groups & Communities” and tap your adidas Runners community under “My Groups & Communities”
    • Tap “View Upcoming Events” followed by the respective event
    • Tap “Show more” next to “Participants” to view the names of all the other Runtastic users who joined the event via the app. The participants list is only visible to fellow members of the community

Note: The participant count also includes those who have joined the event via adidas.com/adidasrunners. The names of these participants will not be displayed in the participants list.

  • Can I edit or delete my activity after tracking an adidas Runners event?

It is possible to edit your activity after you’ve finished tracking with the Runtastic app. To do so, just visit your account on Runtastic.com and follow the short instructions in this article.

Note: If you add an activity manually, either in the Runtastic app or on Runtastic.com, or if you import an activity to Runtastic.com, these activities will not count towards your adidas Runners level. We can only confirm your participation at events where you’ve tracked your running activity live with a GPS signal.

Important: If you delete your activity, it unfortunately cannot be recovered and will be removed from your AR statistics.

  • How do I ensure that my event participation counts towards my adidas Runners level?

While you’re busy celebrating your success after your adidas Runners event, the Runtastic app will automatically confirm that you participated and your AR Run will count towards your adidas Runners level.

To make sure that you’re rewarded for your efforts, just follow the steps below before your event begins:

    • Track your event activity with the Runtastic app or with devices that sync directly to the Runtastic platform.

    • Join the adidas Runners event in the Runtastic app before it starts - Make sure you join the event no later than 15 minutes after the scheduled event start time.

    • Set your activity type to “Running” in the Runtastic app - Only GPS-tracked running activities will be confirmed as AR Runs. For help with this step, please see here if you are using an iPhone or here if you’re using an Android device. Make sure your phone is fully charged to ensure you can track the entire event.

    • Be ready at the event start location at the official start time and don’t forget to hit start on the Runtastic app when the run gets going! Your GPS location and the start time of your activity will confirm your participation in the event (Don’t worry if the event doesn’t start at the exact scheduled start time –  we’ll take this into account and you won’t lose out!)

    • After the event is over, make sure you have an active internet connection - To enable us to confirm your participation, an internet connection is required.

As long as you carry out the above steps, your event participation will qualify as an AR Run and count towards your all important adidas Runners level. See here to find out more about AR Runs and levels.

Note: If you add an activity manually, either in the Runtastic app or on Runtastic.com, or if you import an activity to Runtastic.com, these activities will not count towards your adidas Runners level. We can only confirm your participation in events where you’ve tracked your running activity live with a GPS signal.

  • Why am I unable to join an adidas Runners event in the Runtastic app?

If you are unable to join a particular event in the Runtastic app (i.e. the “Join Event” option is greyed out or disabled), this could be due to any of the following reasons:

    • You’ve forgotten to join the respective adidas Runners community - You will need to first join the respective adidas Runners community before you can join an event hosted by them. Not sure how to do this? Take a look at this article.

    • The event has already started - It is not possible to join an event more than 15 minutes after the scheduled event start time.

    • The event is full - Some events may have a limited number of participants. Once all the available places have been filled, it will no longer be possible to join the event.

    • The event clashes with another one of your joined events - It is not possible to join two events with overlapping start or end times.

    • The event has restrictions -You must meet the requirements for the event in order to join. Some events may have age restrictions, or certain challenging events may require you to already be at a higher AR level before you can join.
