  • GPS Watch: Connecting Chest Strap & GPS Watch + Manual

Coupling chest strap and GPS watch

Each chest strap has its own ID, and was coupled with the GPS watch in the factory in order to avoid defects. If you replace the GPS watch or the chest strap then they must be re-coupled. The same applies after a battery change in the chest strap. To couple the chest strap and GPS watch:

    1. Select the menu point "HRM" then tap the toggle button "On/off" and set it to "HRM     off" in the adjustment mode.
    2. Select the menu point "HRM" and then "Pairing" in the adjustment mode.
    3. Touch the sensor contact surface of the chest strap for a few seconds.
    4. When the pairing is successfully completed, the notification "OK" will appear.
    5. If the notification "failed" appears, then the coupling did not work. Try again by             proceeding as described above.
    6. After the coupling, switch the HRM function back on. Select the menu point                   "HRM" and tap the toggle button "On/off" and set it to "HRM on" in the adjustment       mode.

  • GPS Watch: Is Live Tracking Possible?

The GPS watch doesn't support Live Tracking since there is no data connection within the watch.

  • GPS Watch: Troubleshooting Data Connection Issues

If you have problems sending data from Runtastic Connect to Runtastic.com, or you are experiencing problems with the connection between the GPS watch and your computer please clean the contacts of the watch with a light soap. After this the connection should work fine again.

If you receive the error-message "Timeout while reading...", please try a reset of the GPS watch by pressing all 4 buttons for at least 3 seconds.

  • GPS Watch: Troubleshooting GPS Errors

If you are experiencing problems with your GPS reception please download A-GPS data. The watch has a function called “A-GPS” (Assisted global Positioning System).

A-GPS is a method which speeds up the search process for a good GPS-reception under bad weather conditions. The A-GPS data will be saved on a server and transferred to the watch via Runtastic Connect. The validity period of this data is 7 days. In order to use this function you require internet access.

    Download the A-GPS data:

Connect the watch to the USB cable and then plug the cable into your computer.
As soon as the watch is linked to the computer, the A-GPS data will be transferred to the watch.

If the problem persists please do a Reset of the GPS watch:

In the setting mode select ''System'' and then select ''Settings'' from the menu, then select ''Sys Reset“. Select "On" to perform a system reset. By doing this all the values, all the basic settings reset and all the data (paths, reference points, training histories, etc.) deleted.

  • GPS Watch: Why does it count too many steps?

Your steps are measured with 3D sensor built into the watch and calculated based on the movements you make. These calculations might not always correspond exactly to the number of steps you've actually taken.

Why does it track steps when I am driving?

The steps are measured with a 3D sensor built into your watch, then calculated based on your movements. Therefore, possible vibrations caused by the driving car can sometimes be counted as steps.

  • Moment&Orbit: Is it possible to connect several Wearables to my Steps app?

Yes, you can register several Moments with just one account. In this case, you always have to select the watch you're currently wearing in the app, then connect it.

Can I use a Moment and an Orbit?

You can, of course, use both - but not at the same time. As you can only connect one device at a time with your Steps app, you have to choose one and then connect it every time you switch from Moment to Orbit or vice versa.

  • Moment&Orbit: Use the alarm function

You can set alarms in the Steps app. The alarm time is only displayed in the app, you cannot see it on the watch.

When the alarm is going off, your watch will notify you with a gentle vibration and a blinking LED light. To stop the alarm press the button shortly.

  • Moment: Activate/deactivate Sleep Mode

Press the button for 2 seconds to activate Sleep Mode. By pressing it for another 2 seconds, you can change back to the normal tracking mode.

When in Sleep Mode, the hand of the progress indicator is on the little moon symbol..

  • Moment: Can I reset my Moment?

Press the button for 10 seconds to reset your Moment. To start using it again, press the button for 3 seconds, then connect the Moment with your smartphone.

  • Moment: Can I use my Moment without a smartphone?

Your Runtastic Moment has a 7-day memory which means you don't have to connect it to your smartphone every day. But you do need your smartphone to set up your Moment with the Steps app.

In the Steps app you can set your alarms, goals and your daily activity is displayed.

  • Moment: Further product info

Heart Rate / Bluetooth: The Runtastic Moment can't measure your heart rate and uses Bluetooth to connect to your smartphone. Therefore make sure your smartphone is Bluetooth Smart ready.

Waterproof: The Moment is waterproof up to 100m / 300ft.

Warranty: If you change the battery in accordance with the Quick Instructions, the warranty will stay intact.

  • Moment: My Moment doesn’t react to data introduced via my smartphone or tablet.

Make sure your smartphone or tablet is Bluetooth Smart ready. Turn your Bluetooth off, then on again, then try to connect your Moment.

  • Moment: The functionality of goals

Where can I see how far I am from reaching my goal?

The progress indicator on your Moment shows the percentage covered of your daily goal.

How do I know I've reached my goal?

The watch informs you with a gentle vibration while a LED lights up, when you reach 50% and 100% of your goal.

  • Moment: What should I do if I can’t establish a connection with my smartphone?

Before using the Moment the first time it should be set to 10 minutes past 10. If this is not the case, press the button for 10 seconds. Wait until the hands are set to 10 minutes past 10. Then press the button for 3 seconds - the hands turn again until they stop at 12. Now the watch is in pairing mode and ready to be connected.

If this doesn't work please try the following:

    • Turn your smartphone or tablet off, then on again.
    • Make sure Bluetooth is activated on your smartphone.
    • Turn your smartphone’s Bluetooth off, then on again.
    • Activate Bluetooth before opening the Steps app.
  • Moment: Which data is displayed on my Moment?

You can display the current percentage of either your Daily Steps, Distance or Calories Burned on your Moment’s progress indicator.

At midnight a new day with Runtastic Moment starts and the progress indicator is reset.

When in Sleep Mode, the hand of the progress indicator will move to the little moon symbol.

Next to the progress indicator you are of course able to see the current time. After connecting with the Steps app, the time adjusts automatically to your local time. That means, that you no longer have to adjust the time manually when you are traveling a longer distance.

  • Orbit: Activate/deactivate Sleep Mode

When going to sleep, simply press the Orbit button for 3 seconds until the following symbol appears:

From that moment you can see the sleep time next to the regular clock.

When waking up, simply press the button again for 3 seconds until the sun appears to stop tracking your sleep. This puts the Orbit back in day mode and will begin tracking your steps and other values again.

  • Orbit: Can I use the Orbit without the Steps App?

If you would like to use the Orbit without the Steps app or smartphone, you should press the reset button (at 12:00 pm), which you can find on the back of the device.

You will not be able to enter personal details like your weight, for instance. The device will use average data in order to calculate Calories Burned.

    Usage without app synchronization

The Orbit can save data for about a week. If you do not use a smartphone to synchronize the data then the Orbit will start deleting old data.

  • Orbit: Sync Reminder

If you did not connect or use your Orbit for more than 72 hours, the following symbol might pop up:

In this case, just make sure to connect your Orbit to your phone in order for it to sync the data and install possible firmware updates.

  • Orbit: Use the alarm option

You can set an alarm from within the Steps app. If an alarm is active, you will see the alarm icon in the top right corner on your Orbit.

The alarm will make the Orbit vibrate ten times in a row in order to wake you up. If you do not press the Orbit button while this is happening, the alarm will begin vibrating again 5 minutes later. This cycle happens up to 5 times if the button isn't pressed. In order to switch off the alarm, simply press the Orbit button twice.

  • Orbit: What data can I see on my Orbit?

When tapping the Orbit button once, you will see the current time as well as the progress bar at the bottom. That bar tells you how far you have come towards your step goal.

Tapping it again will bring you to the amount of Steps for the day.

Next, you can see Calories Burned.

And at last you can see your Active Minutes for the day.

  • Orbit: What is Happy Tracking?

Happy tracking means that you can tell your Orbit whenever you feel good. When tapping the Orbit button twice, a smiley will appear on the screen, indicating you've recorded yourself as being in a good mood. You can later see a smiley marking the exact time you tracked your mood when reviewing your steps within the Steps app.

Happy Tracking is currently only available on Android.

  • Orbit: Where can I see my progress towards a set goal?

A bar at the bottom of the screen shows you the progress towards your set goal.

When reaching 50% of your steps, the Orbit will vibrate.

When reaching 100% the Orbit will also vibrate to let you know.

If the bar has gaps, like in the picture below, you have already reached your goal.

  • Orbit: Why does it count calories while sleeping / inactive?

Because you burn calories even while sleeping. In this case, based on the body metrics you entered in the Steps app, the calories you burn while sleeping are calculated.
