Do I have to use the adidas Running app to be part of adidas Runners?
Although using adidas Running is not a requirement to become part of adidas Runners, tracking your adidas Runners events (AR Runs) with the adidas Running app offers huge benefits.
Not only do you have one handy place for all your adidas Runners statistics, upcoming events, and joined communities, tracking with the adidas Running app also enables you to work towards your adidas Runners level.
The more AR events you track with adidas Running (or with devices that synchronize directly with your adidas account*), the higher you can level up and the more rewards you earn!
*The following devices synchronize directly with the adidas Running app:
However, it is not mandatory to use the adidas Running app to track your AR events. You can also check in to running events manually. For more information please take a look at the following article.
Add: For other devices, you also have the option to synchronize or import your activity to adidas Running as a .gpx or .tcx file. For help with importing your activity, please see here.

How much does it cost to join adidas Runners?
Absolutely nothing. The only payment we ask for is your commitment and your drive, which you’ll be bringing with your legs.
-
Are there any requirements to join an adidas Runners community?
We take it you’re at least 18 years old and committed to joining our journey? If that’s a yes, then let nothing else stand in your way!
Whether you already have a few marathons under your belt or you’re finding your feet within the world of running, adidas Runners communities have experts on hand to make sure you’re looked after at running events. So whatever your speed, you won’t be left behind. There are separate speed groups for all paces, and support runners will be there to ensure you get your kilometers in with someone there alongside you.
-
What are AR Events and Credits?
AR events are adidas Runners events* that you’ve participated in and tracked or manually checked into with the adidas Running app.
Your level represents your commitment. The more AR events you join and complete, the more credits you will receive. The more credits you have, the higher your AR Badge will be. We won’t spoil any surprises, but we give back to those who put in the work.
For one AR event participation, you’ll receive 1 AR Credit. If you join one of our Changemaker events, you have the chance to do something good and also earn 2 AR Credits for participating!
To see what you’ll be working towards, check out a summary of the credits and the AR events required to achieve them.
Example: Once you’ve completed your fifth event, you’ll level up to adidas Runners Badge.

Why am I unable to join an adidas Runners event in the adidas Running app?

- You’ve forgotten to join the respective adidas Runners community - You will need to first join the respective adidas Runners community before you can join an event hosted by them. Not sure how to do this? Take a look at this article.
- The event has already started - It is not possible to join an event more than 30 minutes after the scheduled event start time. If you have already joined an event, you can still manually check in up until 30 minutes after the event start time.
- The event is full - Some events may have a limited number of participants. Once all the available places have been filled, it will no longer be possible to join the event.
- The event clashes with another one of your joined events - It is not possible to join two events with overlapping start or end times.

-
What happened to my AR Credits at the end of the year?
You’ll notice that your AR Run total has been set to zero. However, your Badge remains the same until exactly 12 months after you last leveled up.
What About the Rest of 2024?
We’ll keep running together, of course!
- You’ll maintain your current Badge 12 months from the date you last leveled up in 2023.
-
To keep your current Badge after these 12 months have passed, you need to complete the number of runs specified to earn that Badge.
Let’s say you levelled up to Bronze on October 22nd, 2023 – this means you’ll keep your Bronze Badge until October 21st, 2024. To keep it afterward, you’ll have to participate in at least 15 AR Runs between January 1st and October 21st, 2024. - You can never drop back to Starter Badge once you’ve reached the adidas Runners Badge.
- If you complete more runs and qualify to level up, you’ll reach the next Badge, as always.
