Shoe Tracking

Do you know the last time you changed your running shoes? We recommend that you change your running shoes, depending on the model, about every 500 kilometers to reduce the risk of injury.

The Shoe Tracking feature automatically assigns your kilometers to your running shoe.

Add a Shoe

Follow these simple steps to add a shoe for the first time:

  • Tap the menu icon in the top left corner and then “Settings”
  • Select “My Shoes”
  • Tap “Add Your First Shoe” at the bottom of the screen or “Add” in the top right corner
  • Select the brand of your shoe from the list or enter the brand in the search field
  • Select your model from the list or enter the model in the search field
  • You can either use the available picture of the model or add one of your own - just tap on the photo icon
  • Enter a Nickname, Size and Color for your shoe and tap “Next” to save your information
  • Select a date from which all your activities since then will be assigned to your shoe
  • Select the Activity Type you would like to assign to the shoe* and tap “Next” to save your information
  • Set a limit for your shoe** and tap Save”

* Shoe Tracking is available for Running, Walking, Nordic Walking, Hiking and Running (Treadmill).

** We recommend retiring your shoes after 500 km. At this point, the cushioning capability of your shoes decreases, exposing your joints to greater shock and force.

Note: If you cannot find the brand or model of your shoe, select “Other” and enter the model name in the Nickname field.

Edit the Details of a Shoe and View the Statistics

Follow these simple steps to edit the details of a shoe or view the statistics:

  • Tap the menu icon in the top left corner and then “Settings”
  • Select “My Shoes”
  • Select your shoe
  • On this screen, you can see all the relevant statistics: In use since, Activities, Average Pace, Total elevation Gain/Loss
  • Open the overflow menu (three dots) at the top right to edit the details
  • Edit the desired details (the date of the first usage of the shoe can not be changed)

Add or Reassign an Activity to a Shoe

Follow these simple steps to add or reassign an activity to a shoe:

  • Select an activity from your History
  • Open the second tab and tap “Select your running shoe”
  • Select the desired running shoe from the list or add a new shoe

Retire the Shoe

If your shoe has exceeded the recommended distance, you will receive a notification in an info screen. You can ignore the message by tapping “Not now” or view the details of the shoe by tapping “Go to shoe”.

Here, you have the possibility to retire your shoe by tapping “Retire”.

Note: Currently, you cannot reactivate a shoe. If you have already retired it, you cannot restore it.

If your shoe is already worn out before the recommended distance, you can retire the shoe manually:

  • Tap the menu icon in the top left corner and then “Settings”
  • Select “My Shoes”
  • Select your shoe
  • Open the overflow menu (three dots) at the top right to edit the details
  • Tap “Retire”
