Runtastic Heart Rate Combo Monitor: Activation / Troubleshooting

First, please ensure that the elastic strap is sitting firmly against the chest just below the pectoral muscles. Also check if you have good contact with the skin, if not then moisten the contacts of the transmitter or use an ECG gel (which is available in health stores).

To activate your heart rate measurement with the Runtastic Bluetooth Smart Combo Monitor please do the following:

Please make sure to reboot your phone before doing the following.

1. Enable Bluetooth in the Settings of your iPhone 4S or higher. Android devices see Android compatibility here: https://help.runtastic.com/hc/en-us/articles/200370382-Bluetooth-Smart-Combo-Monitor-compatibility-for-Android).

2. Open the Runtastic app on your smartphone.

3. For iOS Devices:

  • Tap the Activity Setup icon next to the "Start" button
  • Select "Heart Rate Monitor" to access the settings

    For Android Devices:

  • Tap the Activity Setup icon next to the "Start" button
  • Select "Heart Rate" to access the settings

4. Select and activate the Bluetooth interface to begin searching and connect the chest strap to the smartphone.

Please check the battery in the sending unit. This means that the little metal plate should be placed over the battery.




Following these steps should help you to connect your heart rate monitor.

If all of the above doesn’t work please try a reinstall of the app.

Have you installed other apps using Bluetooth devices like tracking apps? Please try to uninstall these apps for testing purposes and retry the connection.
