Apple Watch users can now enjoy adidas Running as a standalone app, directly on the wrist! Now as long as you’re wearing your Apple Watch, you can continue to track your activities using the adidas Running app and leave your phone at home.
This means that you can set up, start, pause/resume and finish your activity directly on your watch, without bringing your phone along.
The following features are not included in the standalone app: Countdown, Voice Coach, LIVE tracking, indoor tracking, training plans and music controls. However, if you still wish to use these functions, simply activate Apple Watch Second Screen. For more information, take a look at this article.
Note: Please keep in mind that you will need iOS 13 and watchOS 5 in order to use the Apple Watch Standalone app.
Note: Apple Watch Series 1 users can use the standalone app, but you will still need to bring your phone along in order to have a GPS trace. This is due to the absence of a GPS receiver on the watch.
